Beauty Pageant: Works by Maureen Enns

January 8 – January 24, 1985

McPherson Library Gallery

Maureen Enns, whose representations of horses are metaphors for human behaviour, feels that what was considered real or beautiful in man and beast is now only a myth. The horse, no longer a symbol of power and freedom, has been given a role of a beast or burden or a pretty plaything.
