This was an intimate look into the creative lives of those who teach in the Department of Art Education at the University of Victoria.

The artists included Robert Dalton, Walter Dexter, Don Bergland, Bill Zuk, Ron Smith, Helen Smith, Kathy Collis, and Caren Willims. Both teachers and artists, the Faculty’s art educators reveal their eclectic artistic identities in this exhibit.

The artists included Don Bergland, Robert Dalton, Walter Dexter, Helen Smith, Kathy Collis, Bill Zuk, and Gillian Davidson. They explored the social issues surrounding technology and the environment.

This exhibition features recent drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, sculpture and light displays produced by members of the University of Victoria Art Education Faculty. The artists include Robert Dalton, Walter Dexter, Kathleen Anderson, Helen Smith, Kathy Collis, Bill Zuk, and Gillian Davidson.

This exhibition was a companion to the Renaissance ’99 British Columbia Art Teachers’ Conference held at UVic.

Artists and Teachers: A Faculty of Education Retrospective Exhibition, 1956 to 1992

Art Education faculty at the University of Victoria (and its forerunner Victoria College) have served the teacher preparation needs to the BC public school system since the early 1900’s. The first half of the century was represented by the Maltwood gallery exhibition, John Kyle, Artist and Educator (1985)Artists and Teachers focuses on individuals who contributed in many ways to the design, the implementation and delivery of art education programs at the University.

Artists exhibited: A. Wilfrid Johns, Marion Small, Donald Harvey, John Dobereiner, Margaret Travis (née Moody), John Cawood, Geoffrey Hodder, Peter Shostak, William Zuk, and George Steggles.

An exhibit of drawings, paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics and jewellery by the University of Victoria Art Education Faculty. The artist-educators featured are Bevin Bigalky, John Cawood, Geoff Hodder, Sandra Merino, Marion Small, George Steggles, Margaret Travis, William Zuk.

Once again the Faculty of Art Education attests to the talents of productivity of its members. For the second consecutive year, the faculty is featured in a diversified exhibit of original works.
