A fascinating exhibition where Mischa German-van Eck uses the phonetic branch of linguistics to translate aspects of human voice into colours. The titles of the pieces draw from the vocabulary of linguistics, with titles such as Low Front Vowel and Voiceless and Voiced Apico-Alveolar Stops.
About the Artist:
Mischa German-van Eck was born in the Netherlands, but studied in Holland, Halifax, and at the University of Victoria. She has worked as an art educator and as director of of the Mount St. Vincent University art gallery.
