Priestess Kristina in her Temple (The View From the Tower)

June 28 – July 14, 1990

McPherson Library Gallery

An exhibition consisting of a large freestanding three panelled Altarpiece depicting “Priestess Kristina,” and twelve triptych altar boxes mounted on the wall around the perimeter of the gallery. These boxes, icons, in the manner of the stations of the cross, invite the viewer to pause in front of each of them and open the door to reveal the painting within.

About the Artist:

A Victoria artist, Katherine Dodds’ work remains within the tradition and context of religious paintings, but is contemporary in it’s concerns.
