May Sam
May Sam, (b. 1945) Coast Salish, Tsartlip. May was born in Mill Bay, and has spent her life practicing the art of knitting. May still produces sweaters using hand-spun wool – a labour-intensive process that results in gorgeous and functional garments. Her work is renowned worldwide.
