Molly Privett was born in Streatham, England and immigrated to Canada in 1927. She initially settled in Limerick, Sasketchewan then later moved to Victoria, BC. While studying art under Herbert Siebner, she developed stylized, angular figures through paintings, pastels and prints. She became a member of the Point Group and the B.C. Society of Artists, exhibiting within group and solo exhibitions in the capital region and Vancouver throughout the 1960s. She received an honorable mention at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria juried show in 1965.
