
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Amanda Laliberte is Métis with paternal ancestry from the northern community of Green Lake. She graduated from UVic in 2009 with a BFA in Visual Art (Honours). In 2011, she undertook a diploma in professional photography at the Western Academy of Photography. She is a contributor to the online collaborative known as Tea and Bannock – Indigenous Women & Photography. After spending a few years living in Yalis (Alert Bay), Amanda and her family returned to Victoria so she could pursue her studies in nursing. Her family is grateful to work, study and reside on the traditional territories of the ləkwəŋən, W̱SÁNEĆ and Sc’ianew peoples.
